Origin Story
The founding of The Write Space - It's a tale as old as time.
A young writer, our founder, Robyn-Lee Samuels, toiled away at her day job, yearning for a way to help people share their stories and make a difference in the world. What started as a dream job writing e-learning courses and technical manuals quickly became a mundane reality, and the carousel of clients and projects left her feeling stuck and unfulfilled.
One fateful day, she took a leap of faith, quitting her job to start The Write Space.
Robyn-Lee's mission was - and still is - to help people share their stories and make a difference in the world. She believes everyone has a story worth telling, but sadly not everyone has the time, energy, or know-how to write their story themselves.
That's where The Write Space comes in. We are here to help you turn your ideas into reality and to share your story with the world.
What started as a one-woman operation has now grown into a team of passionate ghostwriters, editors, and book review specialists, all dedicated to helping our clients write their stories and make a difference in the world.
Meet our founder
The Creative Behind The Write Space
Our founder and chief creative, Robyn-Lee Samuels, has nearly 10 years of experience as a professional writer and editor. She started her writing career as an instructional writer with Laragh Courseware, writing e-learning courses and technical manuals for companies for Environmental Health, and Safety Officer training.
She then worked as a freelance social media, blog writer, and ebook ghostwriter before starting The Write Space in 2020.
Robyn-Lee has a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Linguistics from the University of the Western Cape. Currently, she is studying toward an MA in Linguistics with a focus on Language and Branding.
When she's not busy helping our clients write their stories, you can find her curled up with a good book, hiking in the mountains, or spending time with her family and friends.
