Do you know the one key metric many business owners overlook on LinkedIn? It's profile views! With over 134.5 million daily users and counting, LinkedIn is an untapped goldmine for business owners to showcase their skills and make valuable connections. And the more views your profile gets, the higher your chances of being noticed by potential clients or collaborators.
But with thousands of profiles on LinkedIn, how can you stand out from the crowd and increase your profile views?
Enter LinkedIn Games – a fun and effective way to boost your visibility on the platform.
I spoke to marketing expert Richard Liverman, Strategy, branding, Sales Mentor for The Write Space podcast to uncover simple yet tactical ways to enhance your LinkedIn presence.
Over the last year, Richard, among other's, has successfully deployed his “Don't Be Boring” philosophy in the LinkedIn Games community, where he is loving known as the Self-Proclaimed King of Pinpoint, by LinkedIn.
How to Grow Your Personal Brand through LinkedIn Games
The sceptic in you might wonder, “How can playing games on LinkedIn actually help me grow my personal brand?” The answer is simple – by being memorable.
In a crowded platform like LinkedIn, where everyone is trying to sell or promote something, it's crucial to stand out and leave a lasting impression.
There are three key ways you can use LinkedIn Games to become more memorable to your connections and strangers.
1. Connections See Your Profile Photo on the Game Start/Results Page.
Whenever you open one of the four LinkedIn games, you'll see how many of your connections have played the game before you, along with their profile photo. When someone sees your profile photo that often, it becomes familiar, recognizable. They might even see you in their feeds and have a feeling of familiarity because your photo keeps popping up.

2. You Can Post Your Results in the Comment Section for the Puzzle.
The brilliance of these games is you're able to talk about your score, how easy or tough it was or how fast you solved it in the comments. Over time, people have started creating their comments into little posts that express some of their personality, which is a great way to show authenticity and make your connections curious about you.
One player's time is always set to 0:01 or 0:02 with a line about being faster next time or getting distracted that day.
Richard started off sharing a witty right up about the puzzle of the day and has since shifted to sharing his personalized GIFs and now a song linked to the theme. And all these are different ways to show a bit of his personality and approachability. It also opens the doors to conversation and engagement with your connections.

Bonus: Engage with Other Players' Comments.
Whether it's a celebration or reply, engaging with other players' comments is another way to make an impression. It shows you are actively participating in the community and building relationships beyond just connecting on LinkedIn.
By leaving a thoughtful comment or congratulating someone on their score, you are showing your support and interest in others. Plus, since the same 200+ people comment each day, you are building a network of familiar and friendly faces that could lead to further connections and opportunities.

3. You Can Use LinkedIn Games as an Icebreaker in Your Conversations.
Instead of sending the usual “Hi, let's connect” message, you can be creative and use the game as a conversation starter. You can mention how much you enjoyed playing it and ask if they have tried it yet. That's how Richard and I first connected, and here we are collaborating on content.
LinkedIn Games might appear to be just another feature, but when used strategically, they can enhance your personal brand in a fun and distinctive manner. So, give them a try!
Tips for Maximizing Your Profile Views
Now that we've established the power of LinkedIn Games, let's dive into some tips for maximizing your profile views and personal brand on the platform:
Share Your Results. Once you've completed a game, share your results on your feed or in relevant groups. This is another way to showcase your skills and expertise while also engaging with others on the platform.
Network Through Games. Use games as an opportunity to connect with other professionals who have similar interests or skills as you do. This can lead to valuable connections and potential collaborations down the line.
Keep Your Profile Updated. Make sure your profile is up-to-date with relevant information, including your skills, experience, and achievements. When people visit your profile after playing a game with you, they can learn more about you and potentially reach out for professional opportunities.
